First quarter grades and parent teacher conferences are just around the corner. It's hard to believe that my year with these little friends is already nearly one quarter finished! I have the most delightful class this year and I feel so blessed to get to be their teacher. I am tucking this year away in my happy, little teacher heart.
I am looking forward to sharing some of the fun projects, apps, and tools that we are using in our classroom this year over the coming weeks!
In the meantime, looking forward to Parent Teacher Conferences, one of the questions that I am asked ALL of the time is.... "Do you have an app that you recommend for x...." Be it place value, reading, or math facts... parents want to give their children practice on the skills in the classroom without a lot of fuss. Apps are a great way to do that!
Appolearning is a website that provides parents, educators, and even kids with iPad app reviews for a variety of different apps. Their system is a bit different than the traditional, "Here's a great app that I just found..." approach. Apps are sorted into categories by age and target skill, then the top five apps in each category- as determined by the reviewer, of course- are reviewed.
Go check it out now.... Now, when parents ask me if I have a great app for x... I just tell them that I DO have a great app for that... Appolearning! I have had several parents tell me how much they like being able to see the features of each app laid out before making a purchase. The report card feature for each app is a really great addition too.
Have you checked out Appolearning's app yet? Where do you look to find quality apps for the classroom or student use? Leave it in the comments!
